Once or twice a year, anyway. After that, I'll obviously be chucking you out.
So. What are we going to tell Alice about the Perks women?

It's not that I mind guests, even Christmas Day -- we'd talked about inviting the whole Order for a party, right, if we can work out a day most people can come without it being conspicuous. (IS there a day that works for Harry? Also, did you talk to him privately about your idea, although if you do decide to decapitate that miserable elf that certainly solves the problem one way or the other.)
It's just, yesterday was a bad day to bring it up, not that she had any way of knowing. Well, other than checking the moon schedule, I suppose.
I don't mind them coming. The more the merrier. Are we just going to keep Bea in the house, for now? Maybe Cecelia would like to come be our nanny. THAT would serve Kreacher.

I think we'd better take careful checks of Albia's mood and if she even hints at an impending tantrum, whisk her back to the house. The customers will understand, surely - no one wants a pint while a sprog is shrieking her head off five feet away. And it's not even as if you've got to pretend she's going through a trouble period. They'll all just nod with sympathy.
I'd be willing to ask Cecelia but I've a feeling she'd rather be out in the woods, so long as that's where Brownmiller is.
(And no, I haven't talked to Harry other than to tell him he can come visit anytime he can get free. I was hoping to ask him in person.)

She's been talking more and more. And the things she says aren't always predictable. And unfortunately she discovered yesterday that if she really wants to get people's attention, shouting 'Sirius Black!' at the top of her lungs does the trick rather nicely.
You're probably right about Cecilia. Alice might have some ideas, but...we'll have to tell her what happened.
We'll have to do that eventually in any case.

I mean to say, two-year-olds ... they do make things up or say things that don't make any earthly sense. I think. Not that I've known too many of them. But at this point I think you could still make the case that she's part parrot.
Yes, we'll have to tell Alice. I was avoiding that for now, until we've thought through our options a bit more.

Are you thinking about Justin? What his mum did, trying to cover up his magic? It wouldn't be like that, with Bea -- she WILL get older and learn to keep our secrets. And she could have outings, just -- safe places.
Everyone else in the Order with children managed to keep their secrets from the children -- the Twins and Ron both worked it out in the end but not when they were two. I think part of why I feel so frustrated is just -- how is they managed it and we couldn't? But of course, Frank and Alice managed it by leaving their children to be raised by Frank's mother. And Molly and Arthur were never fugitives.
It seemed so simple when she was a baby(no subject)
No, I'm not thinking of keeping her prisoner here, not at all. If we did that, you'd have to come up with a story to tell the regulars. Of course 'She's getting too disruptive' is a perfectly fine excuse but people are accustomed to seeing her about at least some of the time.
I dislike the idea of Compulsion magic but it might be our best option. I'm sure Mother had a few books on the subject of Compulsion in Child-Rearing.
Circe, I hate that idea.

The Crouches used to talk about using charms like that on me to get me to be more useful when I was home. I think Mrs Crouch might even have tried it once, but she wasn't good at that sort of thing. That's why she wanted me to be more help, I suppose.
It's lucky the Grouch wasn't ever there when she thought of doing it. I'm sure he'd have been delighted to Imperius me to do whatever she wanted.

Of course that may have its benefits. If she refuses to speak altogether, problem solved!
No, it's not really any better that way.
